Spay & Neuter Vouchers
We LOVE kittens! And the best way to take care of them is to make sure they don’t have kittens of their own. A single unfixed cat can multiply exponentially in just one year and suffer from diseases and cancers that fixed cats do not. So no matter what you call ‘em—danger poofs, trouble nuggets—get ‘em snipped at 3-4 months old.
To help ensure that as many cats as possible can get fixed, we’ve partnered with many of the veterinary offices in Tuolumne County to set up this voucher program. Each voucher is worth $100, and then you only pay the difference if the spay/neuter surgery costs more than that at your vet.
Want to sponsor a voucher?
If you have already fixed your cat and want to help someone else do the same, you can sponsor a spay/neuter voucher for another member of the public! This is a one-time purchase of $100. The voucher you sponsor will be given away on the 15th of the following month.
This form opens on the 15th day of each month at 5:00am. Any resident of Tuolumne or Calaveras County may apply.
We will review all applications and notify those who will receive a voucher by email, phone, or text message. If you do receive one, pick up your voucher at PetSmart on Friday or Saturday 1-3pm or contact sonora.cats@gmail.com to arrange a separate time to pick up.
Vouchers can be used at the following veterinary practices:
Second Chance Spay & Neuter Clinic – 209-454-0966
Jamestown Veterinary Hospital – 209-984-0232
Live Oak Veterinary Hospital – 209-432-9437
Mono Way Veterinary Hospital – 209-532-5507
Twain Harte Veterinary Hospital – 209-586-3232
Once all available vouchers have been issued for the month, this form will close. Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date they are issued.
Please note: If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours of applying for a voucher, that means you didn’t receive one this month. If you do receive a voucher and you do not pick up your voucher within 2 weeks, it will be forfeited. Limit 1 per person.
Other voucher programs
Didn’t get a voucher this month? There are other options! We have many groups in the area working to make spay/neuter resources available.
